Empowering Education: Samal Island City College Inaugurates New 8-Classroom Building
In a significant stride for local education and community development, the Samal Island City College (SICC) officially celebrated the blessing and inauguration of a brand-new 8-classroom building on June 18, 2026. This latest infrastructure project marks a major milestone in enhancing the learning facilities for students in the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS)

The momentous event brought together a strong showing of community support, attended by SICC administrators, local government unit (LGU) department heads, faculty members, school personnel, and students who gathered to witness the institution’s continued growth.
Highlighting the local administration’s focus on educational advancement, the ceremony featured inspirational messages from key government leaders. Attendees heard from City Councilor Violeto S. Claros, the Chairperson of the Committee on Education; City Vice Mayor Hon. Richard A. Guindolman; and City Mayor Hon. Lemuel T. Reyes, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees. Their speeches powerfully underscored the importance of investing in educational infrastructure to empower students and foster a culture of academic excellence.

The heart of the celebration was the official ribbon-cutting and the blessing of the new classrooms, which was officiated by Rev. Fr. Paulino Huambo Bumba, SVD. Those in attendance joined together in prayer, asking for God’s guidance, protection, wisdom, and blessings upon the new building and all the individuals who will learn and work within its walls
